This issue of The Greatest Photos - Year by Year, covers the years 1870 - 1884. Photos from this area for those years were extremely rare. Most folks couldn't afford the cumbersome equipment or learn the art of photography. Only state and local governments or those who could afford the luxury of professional photographers had access. It wasn't until 1888 when Kodak introduced the box camera that the average person could now take photos.
